Parkinson’s is the second most common neurological condition in Australia and is more common than many cancers – including breast, bowel and stomach cancer.
Parkinson’s has higher prevalence in regional communities, and with difficulties in accessing specialist health supports, people in these centres can experience poorer health.
Parkinson’s Nurse Specialists play an integral role in supporting Parkinson’s patients for better health outcomes. They help patients come to understand their condition and implement strategies to manage physical and emotional challenges.
Nurses liaise between neurologists, GPs and patients, making sense of technical medical language. They support patients through the delivery of advanced treatments in the home and act as an advocate during hospitalisation. The intervention of a specialist nurse can even help avoid or shorten hospital time.
Tickets are priced at $10 each, 2 tickets for $20, 3 tickets for $30, 5 tickets for $50, 10 tickets for $100, 20 tickets for $200
